Please tell us briefly about yourself?
My name is Mohamed Conteh and I am originally from Sierra Leone. I currently run my own production Company Medish Productions. My previous works included a film entitled “In a Man’s Mind,” starring Van Vicker, Uche Jumbo and Desmond Elliot. I am happily married and have one daughter.
Tell us briefly about Family Secrets?
Family Secrets is a family drama that goes back to the good old days soap operas. People that grew up watching Generations, Dynasty, etc., will love this drama. The basic premise of the story is “not judging a book by its cover”. We all know that all that glitters is not gold and this story displays just that. It is about a wealthy family called the McCauley’s that live in North Brunswick, New Jersey. On the outside one would envy this family, they are rich and the patriarch is the Ambassador to Sierra Leone. On the outside one would think this family has it all together, but what goes on behind closed doors tells a different story. Each member of this family shares some dark secrets that would shock the members of their community. We also have other characters contributing to the drama that this family represents. There is suspense, drama, romance and the usual themes that are represented in a soap opera.
Who are the casts in the drama?
My cast features actors from the Diaspora. I have people from Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Liberia, Cameroon and Jamaica. The industry in the US is changing and I want to give actors from the Diaspora a platform to showcase their talents. I have talented actors that have worked in the African industry here in the US and back in Africa. Along with this amazing cast, it is directed by Nollywood Super Director Ikechukwu Onyeka. Ikechukwu has directed over 30 films and has worked with actors like Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola, Olu Jacobs, Justice Esiri, Tonto Dikeh etc. In the future I would love to feature others from the USA and other countries around the globe.
Who are the brains behind the project?
The brain behind this project is up and coming script writer Dianne Diaz. She also plays the role of “Sabina” the middle daughter.
How many episodes are you shooting and who are the main characters?
My first season will include 12 episodes and my main characters Include:
Busairi Savage, Anatu Bundu-Kamara, Alimatu Mary Bangura, Linda Osifo, Dianne Diaz, Taka Tanni, Bridget John, Best Davis, Montel Swarray, Munett Oyarekua, Kassiah Williams, Summer Angel, Tejan Barrie, and Singer “Big Ray”.
How do you intend to get sponsors or support for the project?
This is being produced by Medish Productions.
Who are your target audience?
I want to reach viewers around the world. Because we live in the Diaspora and using actors from the Diaspora, we feel that we will be able to appeal to people of all nations.
