The proposed wedding is a four-day event that will run from August 25 – 28, 2011. While the court wedding is slated for August 25, engagement holds on 26 while the white wedding and reception proper comes up on 27 as well as Thanksgiving Service/Bride’s party which holds on August 28.

In a telephone chat with Mercy, ahead of the D-day, the actress confirmed her wedding date, stating that she is happy to wed her man.

Revealing the extent of her preparation for the wedding, the actress who has suffered damaging scandals and criticisms in the past said she will be travelling to Paris for more shopping very soon although her wedding gown has been bought ahead of time.

Disclosing further, the actress said the engagement ring which she is currently wearing was given to her during her traditional marriage ceremony which would be different from the engagement ring and the wedding band she would wear on her wedding day. The jewlries, she hinted were bought at Swarovski and Samuel Jewleries, both in London.

On her wedding colour, Mercy named purple upon gold, stressing that contrary to speculation that her Aso-ebi is being sold for N8, 000, it is actually sold for N10,000 and only reserved for her friends. Her wedding cards will not be distributed until the end of June.

The actress also hinted that she and her husband are yet to agree on the country they want to observe their honeymoon. According to her, while she prefers to observe her honeymoon in Seychelles, her man wants them to travel to Malta.

Asked whether she will quit acting after her wedding, the sultry actress answered in the affirmative, declaring that “I’m going to quit acting.” She disclosed however that she is planning to go into television and also, to turn a movie producer.

For those who are curious about the identity of the groom , he is a Prince of Esanland (Uromi), in Edo State, a simple and amiable city millionaire.

Addressing previous rumours, she says, “I did mention that I was getting engaged and I did mention that I was getting married and I said that I wanted the wedding within my birthday period, but I didn’t specify on the date. I got engaged in November 2010. So, I couldn’t have mentioned that I was getting married in August 2010.

So I really never came out on any interview to say I was getting married. It was just a speculation because most of my friends knew I always wanted to have a wedding on my birthday (August 28th).” Mercy’s confirming her wedding date however ends many speculations and guesses
