ONE of Nollywood’s pioneer filmmakers, Charles Novia has decided to tell the story of the nation’s film industry as it is, no holds barred. Titled Nollywood Till November…Memoirs of a Nollywood Insider, the book billed for launch later this month, tells the insightful and exciting true story of Charles Novia, “from his trudging days as a struggling filmmaker in the then cabal-styled Nollywood, to his eventual triumph and success as a major force in Africa’s biggest film industry.

My memoirs reveal a personal perspective of the monumental struggles each of the now-famous personalities in Nollywood must have faced on their road to fame. It is a brilliant and inspiring tale of succeeding against the odds in an industry that has been termed ‘the third largest film industry in the world’”, Novia said in a statement released by his publicist.

Published by Authorhouse books in the United States of America, the book has already generated good sales in the Western hemisphere where it has been on the shelves and on the e-book platform for a couple of months. It took the filmmaker a year to pen down the explosive book.

“The book took me a year to write as it was a chronological memoir and I had to search my memory bank for accurate details as well as do a lot of research for true events I wrote about. The launch is scheduled for this November. Definite dates will soon be announced but its looking like the 20th of November, my birthday, which makes the event a double-barrel celebration!”

Novia, known for his bluntness on issues concerning Nollywood believes Nollywood Till November…Memoirs of a Nollywood Insider “stands out because its the first of its kind written by a core Nollywood filmmaker in the form of memoirs which encapsulates personal testimonies of landmark events and productions which all aided the growth of Nollywood.
