Hitherto, Nollywood movies were renowned for a certain appeal that pulled in droves of people all over to watch; a relatable family story; and production that was suitable for the entirety of family unit watching. But the new trend in the industry currently is a far cry from that original premise and great cause for concern.
In a typical movie, you get a mix of horrorful, magical, love, spiritual, sex, comedy scenes all mangled up to complete a supposed 3 hour long movie for the viewer. Proper classifications are non-existent and controls over the explicit nature of such scenes which previously had subtlety to it’s exposition only to be dreamed of.
What is happening? Are the producers conscious of what is being churned out for their beloved viewers? Should they be allowed to continue on such a path?
